Typical Chinese dining, great food, hurried service, noisy. The food is always solid. The wontons are shrimp and pork based and generous in size. You can’t go wrong with their. Noodle soups, dumplings especially their Shen Zen Bao are 🥟🥟🥟🥟 really good though this is a Cantonese restaurant. They’re a little pricier than some but less intimidating if you don’t speak Chinese. Solid food, usually crowded but it moves fast. It is on our regular rotation!

If you're looking for an authentic Hong Kong–style breakfast, this is an excellent place to visit. The wonton noodle soup was outstanding. The egg noodles had the perfect springy texture, just like you'd expect from a traditional Hong Kong noodle shop. The tea egg included with the set meal was also flavorful and perfectly cooked. The breakfast set comes with your choice of coffee or milk tea. I chose the coffee, and it was rich, bold, and reminded me of the authentic local coffee I had in Malaysia. Even the cucumber side dish was fresh, crisp, and well seasoned, making it a great complement to the meal. Overall, everything was delicious, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Hong Kong dining experience.

TL;DR: Legit Chinatown spot with great veggie options and serious allergy awareness. Service is on the slower side and there’s usually a line, but the food hits the spot. Layer up for the walk because parking is non-existent. Honestly, such a solid find in Chinatown! The vibe inside is super nice and they actually have a bunch of great options for vegetarians. Major shoutout to the staff for being so awesome with allergies too—I told them about a soy allergy and they were totally on it, recommending exactly what was safe to order. We got the veggie dim sum, the chicken sweet corn soup, and a veggie hot and sour soup. Everything was seriously delicious. The only catch? The service is definitely on island time. It's slow, there’s usually a line to get in, and the food takes a minute to roll out of the kitchen. Just be ready to wait a bit. Also, trying to park in Chinatown is a total nightmare. Your best bet is to just park further away or take transit. Definitely layer up for the walk over, but honestly, cruising through Chinatown is half the fun anyway because the neighborhood is so gorgeous. Would totally come back for the dim sum!

As the other reviewer had mentioned, I either saw Chinese locals or tourists/visitors in the restaurant. The restaurant was clean and had a busy atmosphere. The server/waiter was helpful and fast, which is a plus. The food was also fresh and impressively juicy, although the dumplings were bland. The tables and decorations were also well organized and had a comfortable vibe. Overall, I think it is a great restaurant to visit if you’d like to try the Chinese cuisine. Note that there are limited options to whether you can adjust the ingredients of an item.

Hon’s Wun-Tun House is a classic Chinese comfort food spot in San Francisco, serving handmade dumplings and fresh noodles. I remember this was one of the first restaurants I visited when I first landed in San Francisco in 2024, so it brings back good memories. Here are my thoughts on everything I tried: Green onion pancakes: The best dish! No meat, just crispy pan-fried pancakes, but they’re incredibly addictive. Beef brisket & beef tendon noodle soup: The broth was comforting. Honestly, the broth was everything for me. Beef brisket over noodles: A pass. It was too oily and felt heavy. BBQ pork: Yes! One of my favorites. So delicious. Seafood XO sauce stir-fried vermicelli: It needed more seasoning. We ended up adding soy sauce, which helped. Shanghai soup dumplings: Unfortunately, no. They were overcooked, and the soup leaked out as soon as I picked one up with my chopsticks (fyi, I know how to use chopsticks. I also know how to eat xiao long bao). Pork & chive dumplings: To be honest, they seem to always overcook their dumplings (I visited a few times and they always overcooked it). Maybe it’s because they’re always busy?
